the Mother of all Posts (not really actually)

It has been a while!

Thanks be to the faithful readers who nevertheless check back and BUG me for not blogging!

So to make up for the long hiatus, here's the mother of all posts!!

In true high C fashion, or you can say i dont believe in keeping a person's attention by my long incessant rambling.. lol :

(i) What I have been busy with
(ii) what made me really happy during my hiatus
(iii) what amused me of late

So, hence, therefore...

(i) What I have been busy with.

Well, i had to clear the whole backlog of work that was piling faithfully because of Countdown Party - and then after that, I attended a camp the weekend before last (of which i had to take time to reflect prior to the camp), and at the weekend just past, another camp where i helped to teach (of which i had to take time to prepare).

I still havent really had time to sit down and plan my goals for this year. i know.

Hard pressed. At the end of this year, the people in my batch would be considered "seniors" of their respective departments, a thought that doesnt quite sit well with me just yet - reasons to be aired at another forum. We have to be so deliberate about our time - which I often feel is like a weak attempt to hold water with bare hands - it slips through your fingers doesnt it..

So I am attempting to articulate the peace within, which I do have right now, the attempt of which is distracted and catalyzed by the series of events around the world that, thanks to the BBC RSS feeds of my k800i, i am immediately privy to:

we have (in no order of importance)

1. the instability in the Middle East thanks to Goodbye Saddam, Harlow US's mad attempt to fill the gap:

Makes me think: Are we that close to End Times already - am I ready?

2. Typhoon Utor that gave us the grandest downpour in 75 years in December (according to Lian He Wan Bao), also the night we were filming the testimonies for the New Year Party

Makes me think: I want to sleep when it rains, how come must go to work? What if it floods because I cant tread water, thank God i stay on 14th floor. I used to be really concerned about global warming as a primary 4 kid.. i wonder why now i dont care so much no more..

3. Spade of crazy discoveries in Indian: i.e. bodies of murdered children.

Makes me think: Voice of the poor, social inequality, Singapore better watch it, how do i not forget to remember for the poor? ... poor dears who died!

4. Thai bombing over New Year: this is the area the bombs went off.

Makes me think: Did Thaksin really do something bad, why o why a coup? and.. I WANT TO GO SHOPPING AGAIN IN THAILAND WAN LEH.. NOW HOWW???

5. Crazy Canadian Pig Farmer who murdered 49 women over 10 years (some of the women were butchered: skulls cracked down vertically, front of hands and feet chopped off and refrigerated in his own home)

Makes me think: SICK SICK WORLD. the devil so exists! why dont we hear of women who kill 49 men? sick sick sick..

My point of all this really? 24 hours a day is not enough for me to fully appreciate the significance of everything. Fortunately I dont get into these philosophical moods often: happy most days to nuah and smile at the sun!

(ii) what made me really happy during my hiatus

Last Wednesday, I was walking to work from the gym (YES! I have been going to the gym once a week for the past month! Well done yes?! =D not bad at all i say, considering how i have had the gym membership for the whole of last year and i went a grand total of less than 20 times! heh).

So anyhowz, I was walking past the only patch of green at Raffles Place yonder morn when this fluttery flock of sparrows decided to fly past me. So there I was, rooted to the ground and incredibly amused when one of them little fellows, he couldnt "zhum brake" in time and nearly flew straight into me!!!!

So cute can die! Fat little fellow he was!

And that made me smile all day. Farne thing was, every guy I told about this incident, all made one comment: did the birds poo on you?

Wassup guys.. that thought wasnt even on my mind!

(iii) what amused me of late

And because I am such an entertainer, here are some of the farnier moments this month past.

I had a conversation with Corrine on MSN - she was pointedly amused by my ignorance, as demonstrated below.

Well, whatever.. at least that proves i am not a real bimbo.. a real bimbo knows her products. I found out anyhowz, that the bag and brand she was talking about here:

the print is SUPER CUTE MAN.. i dont mind one of these.. except that my auntie (the whole family of which just came back from HongKong!!) also bought me two new bags: RED (yess!!!) and gold (yesss!!). I already see this happening relationship blossoming between my auntie and me, she knows my taste man!

So anyhowz.. the other great discovery me wants to sharez with youz.

Please click on the image and see how he describes (shameless) me.. hahaha.. But really, on a separate and very serious note, do read Joel's blog, especially the bits about his kids (see Precious Moments). Brings tears to me heart man.

May every daddy be like you Joel!

And of course, what day is complete without snapping away with my trusty k800i? I am a trigger happy girl!

When I took my parents out for dinner one Saturday earlier this year.

They might be the sweetiest old couple I know. Reminds me of this picture.

Hee.

My Keifu, Keith Didi with that silly face I like so much!

And Weihuang came for lunch today! Look at him!

So intellectual horh..

And because you can always trust me to take a picture of me.

Hahahaa. I was just thinking today, MY we've grown old! I mean, 8 years ago, we would be meeting up in our old uniforms, and backpacks after school! And hanging out means the old RJ canteen! and look at us now, in our work clothes all, catching time during lunch at Raffles Place! (parallel in illustrations unintended, i not so lame wan okay!)

so for old times' sake, i went to take picture from album. We were from the same cca: Harmonica Club!! So here's as performing at the Birdpark in 1998. Lol.

Do you know, in the picture above, there is one lawyer (me), one GIC scholar now GIC man (him), four doctors, and probably 2 engineers? crazy wan horh... tsk. but not in contact with most of them already..

here's us at 18, before "a" lvls.. I had chicken pox during my "a"s. quite an experience i must say.. blog about it another time:

Thank God for best friends! Thank God for friends, for which I have been blessed with many!

Okay, this is one long incoherent post. I do apologize for the verbal dia********. (I cant spell so dont bother counting whether i got the number of asterix-es correct).

I thought this would be the Mother of all Posts, but it's not really, actually. I've written longer, visually more embelished ones.. haha.. OH well.

But you ARE glad i am posting again arent you? =)
